The future Vaudreuil-Soulanges hospital ranks 29th among the major infrastructure projects

ReNew Canada has released its annual report, which features the top 100 Canadian infrastructure projects under construction nationwide. The future Vaudreuil-Soulanges hospital climbs to 29th place among the projects ranked by their implementation budget. With a budget of US$2.6 billion, the facility is also the number one healthcare project in Quebec and the second largest ranked in Canada.

The future hospital center that will be built in Vaudreuil-Dorion represents a net extension of the services of the hospital mission of the CISSS from Montérégie-Ouest and better meets the growing needs of the population in terms of health care and social services. Thus, the settlement of the hospital will improve the quality of life and contribute to the local economic vitality of the entire region.

In fact, the completion of this major public infrastructure project will bring significant positive economic effects in both the short and long term, particularly through job creation throughout the process from planning to hospital commissioning.

An area of ​​132,340 m²

The new building, which will have an area of ​​132,340 m², will be divided into two pavilions. The first will bring together the majority of the project’s ambulatory and support functions, as well as the auditorium, reception facilities and laboratories. The second pavilion, 13 stories high, will house most of the critical functions such as emergency, operating room, medical imaging and all nursing units.

The development of the hospital site began in 2022. Currently, 90 employees are working on the site and the teams are carrying out the drilling work and continuing the installation of the caissons on the site of the two pavilions of the future hospital.
