A final tribute was paid on Saturday to former CAQ Minister Nadine Girault, who died of lung cancer last month at the age of 63.
His funeral was celebrated privately at Les Espaces Memoria in Laval at 2pm where his loved ones could honor his memory one last time.
Prime Minister François Legault attended the funeral. Before the ceremony began, he spoke briefly to the media.
“She was a radiant woman, always in a good mood, then of course she’s far too young, 63, to leave us,” he said. We are all very sad, the big family of CAQ today. »
At the same place where the funeral took place, members of the public were able to offer their condolences to the family and loved ones of the former politician on Friday.
Ms. was elected MP for Bertrand in the Laurentians in 2018.Me Girault served as Minister of International Relations and La Francophonie, and Minister of Immigration, Franciscans and Integration during the first term of the Legault government.
Last July Mr.Me Girault had announced that she would not be running in the October 2022 elections due to her health condition.
Before entering politics with the Coalition Avenir Québec, Ms.Me Girault has held senior positions, notably at the Royal Bank, Bank of Montreal and Desjardins, and has served on several boards of directors.
