The draft rank of the first pick received by the Jets is now known

Game 7 of the Western Conference semi-final between the Edmonton Oilers and the Vancouver Canucks not only had an impact on the playoff picture in the National Hockey League (NHL).

We now know the selection rank of the Montreal Canadiens’ second first-round pick received from the Winnipeg Jets in the Sean Monahan transaction.

With the Oilers’ win, the Habs will officially speak with the 26the rank in the NHL Draft unless he decides to trade that pick.

This is the second time in three years that the CH has spoken at level 26. In 2022, Slovakian Filip Mesar was the team’s choice at this rank, just hours after making Juraj Slafkovsky the first overall winner of the auction.

Remember that as of today the Canadian also holds 5e selection overall in the first round and a total of 12 picks for this entire draft.
