Kirby Dach had knee surgery by a man named Robert Marx, a very renowned doctor in the New York area who also treated Christian Dvorak.
However, in order for Marx to take care of Badger’s case, the Montreal Canadiens had to accept one unconditional condition: the player who goes under the knife cannot return to play until after an eight-month recovery.
Our informant Renaud Lavoie revealed this in his daily column on Tuesday JiC.
“This doctor has seen too many times that athletes return to play after six or seven months,” Lavoie explained. It caused other problems. The player ended up injuring his hip or groin.”
So don’t be alarmed if Dach jumps onto the ice sometime in February.
“We’ll say, ‘He’ll be back soon!’ No, he won’t be back soon,” warned the TVA Sports journalist.
It’s not impossible that Dach could make a comeback, but it would be extremely unlikely. Canadians have to stay up late.
“He needs to rebuild the strength around his knee. Don’t expect a return to play unless CH is in the Stanley Cup semifinals or final,” Lavoie said.
