The map above shows the week-by-week evolution of the areas controlled by the Russians in Ukraine since February 24, but also of the areas taken over by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

It is based on the observations of the Institute for the Study of War (Institute for War Studies, ISW), an American non-governmental organization that the Australian Institute of Strategic Policy (Australian Strategic Policy Institute, ASPI), as well as those of war mapper. Finally, at the beginning of the week, it is updated with data for the past week.
