The Montreal Canadiens have seven representatives in the National Hockey League’s top 100, compiled by the specialized website EP Rinkside.
The gem Ivan Demidov, whom the organization ranked fifth overall in the last draft, appears third on this list compiled by public space perspective experts Mitch Brown, David St-Louis and JD Burke.
Demidov is behind fellow countryman Matvei Michkov (Philadelphia Flyers) and 2024 draft pick Macklin Celebrini (San Jose Sharks). The Saint Petersburg SKA striker is followed by Cayden Lindstrom (Columbus Blue Jackets) in fourth place, while Ryan Leonard (Washington Capitals) completes the top five.
You have to go down to 13th place to see CH’s next hope, defenseman David Reinbacher, who also told TVASports.ca that he has big ambitions for training camp.
Lane Hutson ranks 27th, which is a surprise since several experts rank him ahead of Reinbacher.
Forward Joshua Roy, who made his debut with the Canadiens last season, was ranked 52nd. Roy remained eligible for this ranking because he met the requirement to be eligible for the Calder Trophy next season.
Two other attackers in the Habs’ youth pool, Michael Hage and Owen Beck, rank 72nd and 76th respectively.
Defender Logan Mailloux finished just 95th.
