The CH collapses in Vancouver

The Canadian delivered another game not intended for people with heart problems at Rogers Arena last night.

In a game in which the tide turned sideways several times, the visitors lost an offensive feast 7-6 in overtime to the Vancouver Canucks.

Above are the highlights of the game.

Elias Pettersson gave the home win by taking advantage of a fall from defender Michael Matheson in the Canadian’s territory. The Swede jumped on a loose puck to thwart Samuel Montembeault with a beautiful feint.

It was an exciting match as it can be. The Canadian initially took the lead with four goals in the first period. He was in full control of the game as he took advantage of goalie Spencer Martin’s generosity.

Then the Canucks responded with five goals in a row. The loss began with Connor Garland’s goal late in the second period.

The small striker used a blunder by the young Habs defenders to break the ice.

A tsunami

In the final minutes of the game, we witnessed a veritable roller fire, with the two teams trading three goals in the final five minutes.

“It was a pretty strange game,” said Martin St-Louis. We could have fallen 2-0 down but Sam kept us in the game.

“It’s not easy to play against teams when you’re leading 4-0. You will surely cheat more. We couldn’t score the fifth goal.”

His players also showed character in the third period. It came after a timeout from St. Louis following the Canucks’ fifth goal.

“I liked how they fought. It was an emotionally demanding game. In my opinion, there are so many more positives than negatives about this meeting.

Solid Montembault

Once again, Samuel Montembeault set the tone for his team. The Canucks buzzed around his cage for the first few minutes of the game.

He made at least three big saves from threatened shots. These gave confidence to a private defense brigade led by Quebecer David Savard.

To mark the occasion, the order of the pairs was turned upside down a few hours before the game. In particular, we saw a duo consisting of Arber Xhekaj and Jordan Harris.

Monahan falls in battle

For the second time in a row, head coach Martin St-Louis lost a big chunk. Sean Monahan left the game in the second period.

He was forced to resign due to a lower body injury. It’s possibly the same injury that caused him to almost miss his return to Calgary last week. We had seen him move with a protective boot before the duel against the Flames.

This injury meant that the other center players had more minutes in the third period. Christian Dvorak and Jake Evans in turn developed with Juraj Slafkovsky and Josh Anderson.

What we noticed

During this offensive celebration we were able to celebrate Michael Pezzetta’s first goal of the season. The striker played his best game of the year so far. He showed more commitment, although his playing time was not generous. In that sense, he must move on.

Andrei Kuzmenko has been one of the big stories in the NHL since the start of the season. We saw a fraction of the extent of his talent during that meeting. The Russian equalized late in the third period.

For this duel we saw several Canadian jerseys in the stands. In addition, the audience seemed to stand for the guests, especially in the first half. It’s crazy how popular the Habs are in Western Canada.

Juraj Slafkovsky rang defender Luke Schenn’s bells in the first third. The Canadian’s first-round pick rose painfully. As a result, Arber Xhekaj came to his defense. After some medical examinations, the Slovakian was able to get back into the game.

The Canadian had to do without the services of David Savard. The Quebecer was injured in the upper body. We couldn’t find out whether it was an injury that the defender had been suffering for a long time. It’s unclear if he can play in Seattle tonight.

foreplay

The Habs continue their journey west after beating the Calgary Flames on Thursday and losing to the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday.

The Bleu-Blanc-Rouge continue to flirt with the .500 mark, with a 12-11-1 record, good for 25 points and sixth overall in the Atlantic Division.

With 70 goals scored, CH is the weakest offensive in its section. It doesn’t look any better for the Canucks, who are good for 23 points with 10-12-3. They’re sixth in the Pacific Division.

Samuel Montembeault and Spencer Martin should be the starting goalies.
