The Canadiens-Islanders game | “I don’t think I can compete against Patrick” – Martin St-Louis – 98.5 Montreal

The Montreal Canadiens practiced in Brossard on Wednesday, a day after a loss to the Ottawa Senators and on the eve of a meeting against the New York Islanders and their new coach Patrick Roy.

Without too much surprise, we talked more about the upcoming game than the game the day before…

According to Martin McGuire, summing up the day at Mario Langlois' microphone on Sports Amateurs, Roy's visit comes at the right time for the Habs.

“The arrival of Patrick Roy is good for the Canadiens,” notes McGuire, who emphasizes that it allows us to avoid talking about a lot of things that aren’t working particularly well for the Habs.

Would it be a meeting between Patrick Roy and Martin St-Louis?

“I don't see it as my opponent against Patrick, but I understand what the fans can feel,” noted Martin St-Louis.

The Quebecers involved, however, think the opposite and note that the two teams could motivate themselves in this way: to win the game for their respective coaches.

Other topics discussed:

  • Juraj Slafkovsky separated from Suzuki and Caufield during training
  • Joshua Roy was sent back to Laval
  • A recall from a missile center in Laval is expected

We hear Martin McGuire and Mario Langlois…
