The Canadian government is supporting high school students across the country to develop projects to promote healthy lifestyles in their schools and communities

Starting healthy habits early in life can lay the foundation for lasting well-being. Whether it’s eating nutritious meals, staying active or prioritizing mental health, we want to equip young Canadians with lifelong skills to live healthy lives and inspire others.

The Youth School Health Grant supports young Canadians aged 13 to 19 who are enrolled in a Grade 9 classe at 12e Year or 3e at 6e year of secondary school in Quebec have the opportunity to apply for grants of up to $1,500. The goal of the grant is to enable young people to develop their own initiatives to promote healthy lifestyles in their schools and communities.

Today, the Honorable Ya’ara Saks, Minister of Mental Health and Addictions and Deputy Minister of Health, announced the latest round of Youth School Health Grant recipients and congratulated 24 high school students, including those selected for projects.

These students were selected to lead short-term initiatives aimed at supporting mental health and well-being, promoting healthy eating, reducing substance-related harm, or promoting physical activity among their peers.

The Youth School Health Grant continues to empower motivated and creative young people to develop project planning and leadership skills while promoting overall health and wellbeing in their school and community.
