The Canadian government is investing in clean technology by supporting Boralife Technologies
CED provides $250,000 in financial support to Technologies Boralife. This contribution is part of the nearly $40 million Canadian government support for innovative projects in Quebec for a green and resilient economy.
Rachel Bendayan, MNA for Outremont and Parliamentary Secretary to the Secretary of Tourism and Deputy Treasury Secretary, on behalf of the Honorable Pascale St-Onge, Secretary of State for Sport and Secretary of State for IBD, announced financial support from the Canadian Government to Boralife Technologies to stimulate the growth of SME Sorel-Tracy .
Boralife Technologies specializes in the development and commercialization of a new ecological and sustainable wood treatment technique based on sodium borate, aimed at making it fireproof and protecting it from insects and mould. The start-up company is supported by the Inkubator-Beschleuniger AG Biocentre based in Lévis.
To help Boralife Technologies get started, CED gave it a repayable grant of $250,000. The Canadian government’s support will allow the company’s exclusive certified refractory wood (boraflame) treatment process to be improved and expanded this know-how is marketed. In the near term, Boralife Technologies’ implementation of this technology will help grow its sales and profitability.
More specifically, CED’s contribution will enable Boralife Technologies to acquire and install automated production equipment, including a stamping line. The project will lead to the creation of four jobs.
