The Canadian | Back to the game for Jonathan Drouin

Jonathan Drouin will finally be back in action Wednesday night in Ottawa.

The Quebec forward, who has not played since November 12, was seen completing the club’s fourth line in morning training alongside Michael Pezzetta and Joel Armia.

Before falling in battle, Drouin had to miss the club’s last 13 games. His return means Rem Pitlick will have to settle for a spectator role against the Senators on Wednesday night.

Before he got injured, Drouin had just collected two assists in two games, a good streak after a slightly less good streak in which he had been shut out in his previous seven games. In 12 games this season, he has four assists but no goal yet. It remains to be seen if he can rekindle with a trio whose playing time may be limited.

For his part, Cole Caufield will indeed be on the post after suffering a scare at the Bell Center on Monday night, the victim of a solid check from the Calgary Flames’ Trevor Lewis.

Remember that it is Samuel Montembeault who will face the Canadian net. Jake Allen will take on Anaheim in the next game Thursday night at the Bell Center.
