MONTREAL – The Montreal Canadiens and Air Canada have announced a multi-year partnership agreement that will see the Air Canada emblem appear on the jerseys worn by Canadiens players on the road, beginning today and lasting for the duration of the agreement. The news reinforces a more than 40-year partnership between the two brands, which share a shared heritage in Montreal.

“It is a privilege for us to have a long-standing relationship with the country’s national airline, Air Canada, and we are proud to formalize a partnership that will highlight the Air Canada brand every time we travel,” said France Margaret Bélanger, President, Sports and Entertainment, Groupe CH. “We trust Air Canada to transport our players from city to city, and now that bond will also be visible on the ice when our team performs in front of our fans in all NHL markets.” »

“As the official airline of the Montreal Canadiens, Air Canada is passionate about its relationship with the organization and its dedicated fans across Quebec and across North America,” said Mark Nasr, Vice-President General – Marketing and Digital Solutions of Air Canada and President of Aeroplan. “As hockey fans ourselves, it is a privilege to transport the team across the continent and proudly show our support and partnership, both on and off the ice. »

The addition of the Air Canada crest is part of the NHL’s game jersey advertising program, which allows league teams to sell advertising on their official jerseys. The crest, featuring the name and iconic Air Canada emblem (the red maple leaf in a circle), will be placed on the team’s official white jerseys, sewn into the upper right portion of the torso, and will be worn in tonight’s game against the Ducks in Anaheim, California.

The partnership will also have a positive impact on the Greater Montreal community. At the end of each season and for the duration of the agreement, the Air Canada Foundation and the Canadiens Children’s Foundation will auction off a set of worn away jerseys. All proceeds will go to charities that help children, with the goal of increasing accessibility to hockey for young Canadiens fans.

Fans can receive the Air Canada crest exclusively and free of charge on the team’s official away game jerseys, which are available at Tricolore Sports stores at the Bell Centre and the CN Sports Complex in Brossard or by calling 514-989-2836. For more details, visit Canadiens.com/sweater.
