The Business Council of Canada welcomes Louise Blais as Senior Special Advisor

The Business Council of Canada is pleased to welcome former Canadian Ambassador Louise Blais as Senior Special Advisor. Louise will draw on her extensive diplomatic experience to provide advice and perspective on international affairs and Canada-US relations.

Louise Blais served as Canada’s Ambassador and Deputy Permanent Representative to the Organization of Nations in New York from 2017 to 2021. As a senior diplomat, she held various overseas positions in Washington and Tokyo, and as Minister Counselor for Political Affairs at the Embassy in Paris. In 2014, she was appointed Consul General of Canada in Atlanta, responsible for North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama and Mississippi.

“At this time of great global instability, and at a time when Canada’s relationship with the United States has never been more important, it is critical that Canadian business leaders understand the evolving geopolitical environment,” said Goldy Hyder, President and CEO of the Business Council of Canada. “Louise Blais brings unique experience and expertise. We look forward to benefiting from his intelligent and informed advice on Canada’s place in a changing world. »
