The Boston Bruins and Pittsburgh Penguins face off Monday at the Winter Classic, being held at Fenway Park, home of the Boston Red Sox.
This is the 14th edition of the Winter Classic, the first of which was held in Buffalo in 2008 with a match between the Sabers and the Penguins.
This is the third time the Penguins have competed in the Winter Classic. After 2008, they also faced the Washington Capitals at Heinz Field, home of the Steelers in the NFL, the Philadelphia Flyers at Fenway Park in 2010, and the Montreal Canadiens at Gillette Stadium and the New England Patriots in 2016.
With 60 points overall, the Bruins are the best team on the Bettman Circuit. They have won seven of their last ten games, an unbeaten run in regulation time. For their part, the Penguins are struggling as they sit fifth in the Metropolitan Section table with 44 points.
