The publication picked up five awards at the Association of Community Written Media of Quebec’s (AMECQ) Annual Awards Ceremony in Victoriaville on Saturday.
It won first prize for best sentiment copy, best column, and best graphic design. He also won third prize for press photography and second prize for written media of the year 2023.
For CEO, Valérie Martinez, with these awards the organization recognizes the efforts of their team, of which they are proud as the newspaper was nominated in 6 of the 13 eligible categories and 38 newspapers in the race.
It’s really a great recognition of our volunteer editors who really give their all each month writing for us and I think they enjoy it a lot. Then we are very happy to work with you. It is a great opportunity for our newspaper to have such wonderful volunteers.
She says.
She adds that is the Bohemian Index often given as a good example, both for the distribution, for the writing of the texts and especially for the image
within the AMECQ.
Valérie Martinez says the newspaper will celebrate its 15th anniversary with news, particularly on the distribution side.
The newspaper team still has the idea of producing a small bohemian index. This is important to us, but we lack a little manpower […] It could be a kind of leaflet that we put in the newspaper a few times a year that we put in and we can include the youngest up to 25 years old to have a little idea which would be a bit of the continuity of the Bohemian Index

Valérie Martinez also recalls that the newspaper is open to anyone who wants to write articles.
