TORONTO, March 23, 2023 /CNW/ -TD Bank Group (TD), in conjunction with Canadian Administrator of VRS Inc. (ACS), is the first Canadian bank to introduce a dedicated phone line for deaf customers using sign language, allowing them to use their Video Relay Service (VRS) application when TD serves their remote banking needs.

When customers call a TD contact center via VRS, customers and their American Sign Language (ASL) or Qubec Sign Language interpreters are connected to a specially trained and equipped TD colleague to ensure the security of customer information is protected and theirs Requirements meet the customer experience more accessible.

At TD, we are committed to ensuring that all customers and communities we serve have equal access to support and services. That’s why we’re thrilled to partner with ACS, the Canada VRS Video Relay Service (VRS) administrator, who helped us fill a service gap for deaf customers. By working closely together, we can ensure that customers who use VRS at Canada (SRV Canada VRS) receive a better experience when communicating with TD, which allows us to be a more inclusive bank for all,” said DawnCooper, Head, North American Customer Operations, TD Bank Group. “We’re proud to promote new services that encourage inclusion for our customers,” added Mr.MeCooper.

VRS user under Canada (SRV Canada VRS) can now dial 1-844-229-0789 (LSQ/French) or 1-844-229-0787 (ASL/English) to reach the TD Contact Center, where a TD will transfer the call to the right TD colleague who will help create a smoother and more inclusive process.

This TD project is an exceptional example of the accessibility of the work. “I thank the bank for taking the company’s initiative to introduce a special toll-free number for VRS users in Canada,” he said Sue DeckerCEO of ACS.
