SX GLOBAL ANNOUNCES TENTATIVE 2023 SCHEDULE FOR SIX FIM SUPERCROSS WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS EVENTS

SX Global is delivering on its promise to bring Supercross to fans around the world, confirming WSX Championship rounds in Australia, UK, Francein Germany, in Canada and Southeast Asia

QUEENLANDAUSTRALIA, December 9, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Following two very successful pilot events in 2022 where more than 85,000 fans enjoyed world-class Supercross competition cardiffWales and MelbourneAustralia, SX Global today announced six events for the 2023 FIM Supercross World Championship (WSX). The 2023 calendar will expand the championship’s global footprint with FIM-sanctioned rounds FranceGermany and Canada, while returning to Australia and the UK. The championship also extends to Southeast Asia, the exact location of which will be announced shortly.

Our goals, while ambitious, are clear: to bring Supercross to a global audience through a truly international calendar of events, to visit diverse destinations with established and passionate fanbases, and to visit new regions where Supercross can take place and thrive, said Adam Bailey, CEO of SX Global. We believe the 2023 calendar will deliver on those promises, but that’s just the tip of the spear. We still have plenty of growth potential in regions around the world hungry to witness this incredible spectacle first hand. We’re only scratching the surface of our long-term plan for the WSX.

The director of the FIM Motocross Commission, Mr. Antonio Ali Portela, said: “After a successful first season in 2022, SX Global brings the FIM WSX Championship to new lands. World Supercross enters a new era as the series expands to countries and venues around the world to the delight of its many fans. And this is just the beginning, we are sure that there will be many more countries participating in the championship in the near future.

WSX will bring its pioneering Supercross experience back to the UK for the opening round on July 1st, at Villa Park in Birmingham. The Championship will then cross the English Channel to get there France for the second round on July 22 at the Groupama Stadium in Lyon-Dcines. The series will travel to Southeast Asia on September 30th before making a guest appearance at the Merkur Spiel Arena in Dusseldorf, Germany on October 14th. On October 28th the WSX will be there Canadaat BC Place in Vancouver and once again the series finale takes place Melbournein Australia, at Marvel Stadium, on November 24th and 25th.

Our pilot season was designed to test what’s possible and to prove that the sport of Supercross has strong fan demand in previously underserved countries around the world, said Bailey. The incredible response from fans and participation in the events of cardiff and from Melbourne have confirmed that our intuition was correct and we are now under strong impetus and interest from cities, promoters, broadcasters and sponsors who all want to be part of the new World Cup.
