Joshua Roy on his best moment from the last two seasons:
[Au Championnat mondial junior]This winter we experienced the real atmosphere of the World Juniors. Last summer it was super comfortable; It’s still the World Juniors, but they took place in the summer and were less crowded. We felt less like it was the World Juniors. But this winter in Halifax, the atmosphere in the arena and even in the city was really incredible. In addition to win [la médaille d’or] In overtime it was really great.Roy on his role in the winning goal of the 2023 World Junior Championship final:
To be honest, I got goosebumps watching it again too. It was really amazing. When it happened, when I saw the puck go in, it was like I wasn’t in my body anymore. I remember trying to remove my helmet but couldn’t even manage it. Honestly it was really great and the atmosphere there was crazy. We couldn’t even hear each other talk on the ice. It screamed and honestly it was an amazing moment.
Roy on working on the defensive aspects of his game:
This year and last year I did a lot of defensive videos with my assistant coach. The good thing is seeing what you’re doing right and what’s wrong. Then try to incorporate that into your game. I think it worked for me. I think I’ve improved a lot there. Of course I still have to work on that. It’s getting harder and harder and I need to keep getting better, so I’ll keep working on it.

Roy on his attendance with the Laval Rocket during the 2022 Calder Cup Playoffs:
It really helped me. I had never really had an experience [chez les] professionals. Seeing her performance in the playoffs was something. You really see what it’s like to be a pro. I think it really helped me. Personally, I made it to Sherbrooke during the playoffs this year. To see how they did it, how they acted; They are examples to follow and I trusted them. It helped me.
Roy on his advice for young hockey players:
You must never let go. No matter what sport it is, you will never only experience flights of fancy. Harder times are coming. I think it’s about always coming out with your head held high and working even harder to come out on top.
