Spengler Cup: Canada collapses against HC Davos

Canada squandered a two-goal lead in the third period and ended the Spengler Cup preliminary round on Thursday with a 3-4 defeat against HC Davos.

Calle Andersson delighted the fans gathered in Davos by putting his team in the driver's seat for the first time with 5:45 left.

The Canadians took a 3-1 lead after two appearances thanks to efforts from Josh Jooris, Michael Joly and John Quenneville. After Davos' second goal, everything went out of control when goalkeeper Thomas Milic appeared to have suffered an injury. Aaron Dell came into the game but was surprised twice on seven shots.

Canada's next opponent, Kuopio, suffered defeats in his first two games. The team particularly includes Oliver Kapanen, the Canadian young player from Montreal.
