Businesswoman Manon Brouillette returns to the board of cloud commerce specialist Lightspeed.
Since June, President of the Hydro-Québec Board, MsMe Brouillette is known for leading Videotron from 2013 to 2019, a period of expansion in the mobile business.
MMe Brouillette left Lightspeed’s board in 2021 to take an executive position at American telecommunications company Verizon in New York. This appointment stood out because it is rare for a Quebec executive to reach the top of a major U.S. company.
However, his tenure lasted less than two years as the hoped-for recovery of the mobile communications division failed to materialize under his leadership. She left office at the end of 2022.
MMe Brouillette has served as a director on several boards throughout her career, including National Bank, Cirque du Soleil and Altice USA.
She graduated from Laval University and completed the Ivey Business School Executive Program.
The appointment comes as Lightspeed targets positive earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) in fiscal year 2024 (ended March 31, 2024).
