Spectacular recovery of the Rocket thanks to Joël Teasdale

Joël Teasdale was the spark plug for the Laval Rocket in Friday’s 3-2 comeback against the Hershey Bears in overtime at Place Bell.

The Sainte-Julie skater scored a hat-trick while Anthony Richard and William Trudeau had two assists on either side. See it in the video above.

In just 38 seconds, in the second third, the course of the game had changed completely. These are the same three Quebecers who gave the bears headaches in massive attacks, Teasdale, Richard and Trudeau.

Teasdale scored his eighth and ninth goals of the season. He deflected a shot from Richard, who received his 20th assist of the series to level the game.

Mike Vecchione showed indiscipline in extra time and the Laval team didn’t want to let such an opportunity pass. Teasdale redirected Peter Abbandonato’s shot.

Lack of opportunism

After repeatedly being frustrated by Quebec’s Zach Fucale in the first half, Jean-François Houle’s men had paid for their lack of opportunism.

The Bears capitalized on a double power play and struck late in the first third. Joe Snively gave Kevin Poulin no chance by demystifying him with a powerful one-timer shot.

Then, just six seconds before the first break, Mike Sgarbossa doubled his side’s lead in a two-for-one run. His quick shot took Poulin by surprise.

There was also a round table on women’s hockey during the first break. Montreal Canadiens Vice President of Communications Chantal Machabée also attended, as did Ann-Sophie Bettez and Kevin Raphaël, Captain and President of the Montreal Force respectively.

The Rocket will host the Toronto Marlies on Saturday.
