(Zaō) Alexandria Loutitt became Canada’s first woman to stand on the top step of the podium at a ski jumping World Cup after winning a competition on the normal hill in Zao, Japan on Friday.
Loutitt, a Calgary native who is 19e birthday last Saturday, achieved his first World Cup podium of his career with a total of 240.3 points.
With this result, she led by more than eight points to the Austrian Eva Pinkelnig (231.8), who largely dominated the overall ranking of the World Cup. Chiara Kreuzer (228.6), also from Austria, completed the podium.
