“Samuel Montembeault has changed his approach”

If Samuel Montembeault has had so much success since the start of the season, it's partly because he's changed the way he approaches games.

TVA sports journalist Renaud Lavoie emphasized this in his column on the “JiC” program on Tuesday.

“He’s a guy who has changed the way he approaches games. He now has the knife between his teeth. He wants to establish himself as number one in the NHL, a truly elite number one. He wants to be worthy of the very good goalkeepers in the league. That’s his goal,” he said.

The Quebec goalkeeper recently revealed that he also wants to stop all pucks in training.

“He wants to come off the ice after every practice and feel good. “It is the mentality of a man who has a mission,” said Renaud Lavoie. Samuel did an exceptional job again on Saturday against the Oilers.”

His full column can be found in the video above.

We're also talking about Cole Caufield, who has almost doubled his efficiency ratio from 8 to 14% since the end of December.

“We find the Cole Caufield we know with an efficiency percentage worthy of his talent.”
