Samsung Electronics Canada is proud to celebrate its 9th year as one of Canada’s Top Employers for Young People

The annual competition identifies the best jobs in Canada for young people to build rewarding careers.

Samsung Canada is proud to once again be included in MediaCorp Canada’s list of Canada’s Best Places to Work for Young People, as announced in a special issue of the globe and mail. This recognition marks the ninth consecutive year that Samsung has been named one of the top places in Canada for young people to start their careers.

Companies on the list were evaluated on their ability to attract and retain young workers, mentoring and training programs, opportunities for growth and development, and the percentage of young people in the organization.

Samsung is committed to providing young Canadians with the best opportunities to learn and grow in their careers. The reasons for this recognition given to Samsung are as follows:

  • The co-op program and summer internships, which connects the organization with students from various schools across Canada. Through this program, students have the opportunity to contribute their unique perspectives and innovative ideas in areas such as corporate citizenship and employer branding.
  • partnerships with universitieslike collaborating with Vancouver Community College to create a Samsung Tech Institute device certification course, or collaborating with Centennial College to launch a mobile app development program.
  • The Samsung Scholarship Program, that aims to help young adults continue their studies at college or university level. Open to employees’ children, up to three (3) students receive a CAD$2,500 scholarship each year. In addition, all scholarship applicants will receive a Galaxy Book laptop to support their continuing education.
  • Samsung’s Solve for Tomorrow competition, that challenges young people to use STEM learning and Samsung technology to solve real-world problems that positively impact their communities.

“We are thrilled to be recognized once again as one of Canada’s top places to work for young people not only to start their careers, but to thrive in them,” he says Jihoon Lee, President and CEO of Samsung Electronics Canada. “We know that young people bring unprecedented enthusiasm, innovation and curiosity that truly strengthen our business and culture.”
