Samsung Canada has launched Samsung News, a new way for Canadians to stay up to date on daily news in one convenient place on their Samsung Galaxy device. With a morning and evening summary of breaking news, a personalized feed and more, Samsung News’ innovative features help users stay informed in a simple format that works best for them.
At beta launch, Samsung News is an update to Samsung Free. Users who already have Samsung Free on their device will see the icon change to Samsung News when the app is updated. All other users can access the app by downloading it directly from Samsung’s Galaxy Store. Samsung News will initially be available on select smartphones before rolling out to all other Samsung devices soon.
“With Samsung News, Canadians can access a selection of personalized news tailored to their individual preferences,” it said Jihoon Lee, President and CEO of Samsung Canada. “We see many Canadians consuming more and more news on their devices, and we’re proud to offer Galaxy users a simple, personalized news experience right in the palm of their hand.”
Samsung News offers users three easy ways to access news within the app:
- News of the day: Twice a day (morning and evening), Samsung works with a team of experienced editors to provide users with a summary of the day’s most important news in one place.
- News: Users can also access a news feed from Samsung partners that is categorized for easy access, and the Following tab allows users to update their settings to personalize them. Messages they receive.
- Podcasts: Users can listen to their favorite news or entertainment podcasts directly from the Samsung News app.
