David Reinbacher had a rather difficult game on Saturday afternoon, similar to the season of his club in Switzerland, HC Kloten, which lost 2:5 against the Langnau Tigers. This defeat also led to the dismissal of head coach Gerry Fleming, who took over this year.
General Manager Larry Mitchell will take over the bank on an interim basis.
On Saturday, Reinbacher committed a number of ball losses, including a particularly stupid one that allowed the opposing team to shoot into an empty goal late in the game.
He finished the game at -1 with a game time of 19 minutes and 29 seconds. Former Canadiens defenseman Nathan Beaulieu was the most sought-after player on Kloten’s side, spending almost 24 minutes on the rink.
In seven games so far this season in the Swiss league, Reinbacher has only scored one goal (into an empty net) and no assists. The Austrian returned to action on November 3 after a three-week absence due to an upper body injury.
With just seven wins in 23 games this season, Kloten is in second-to-last place in the Swiss league (13th out of 14).
