The Quebec government on Monday announced its plan to implement the National Architecture and Land Use Planning Policy. The budget is $360.4 million.
The plan envisages: “30 concrete measures and actionsincluding setting up a surveillance systemAssess the achievement of land use planning goals“.
“This system will allow the development framework to be adjusted as needed to optimize its performance and thus better respond to societal challenges,” the press release reads. $17.4 million will be made available for use.
Among the other amounts presented, we find: $43.7 million to support the municipal sector, specifically for updating RCMs’ land use and development plans; $16.5 million to support the creation of green and blue frames; $6.7 million to set up the Bureau de la valorisation de l’architecture.
The purpose of this last measure isIncreasing architectural quality in Quebec“.
“Work is underway to modernize the regulatory framework to create the conditions for the development of an innovative and creative architecture that relies on know-how and talent“, says the press release.
Also, $239.4 million is “planned to support the development and implementation of climate plans by local authorities“.
The amounts presented at the time of the announcement were already included in the Quebec government’s most recent budget.
Local Government Secretary Andrée Laforest announced the plan on Monday in Victoriaville alongside her colleague Culture and Communications Secretary Mathieu Lacombe.
