Public Security Minister François Bonnardel on Thursday sent a letter to the sector’s regulator, the Bureau of Private Security (BSP), asking it to investigate the Neptune agency’s case.

This company has therefore been authorized by the BSP to carry out its activities in Quebec, but the minister has reason to question this authorisation.

In addition, Neptune is also authorized to contract or subcontract with the government as it has been validated by the Autorité des Marchés Publics (AMP) and is listed in the Register of Approved Companies.

In his letter, Mr. Bonnardel notes that a report by Radio-Canada raises “several doubts about the integrity of Neptune Security Services’ leadership.”

In fact, the Enquête report suggests that the big boss of the agency has a dual identity.

“It’s extremely nebulous,” the minister commented during a morning press throng in Parliament.

“I sent a letter to the BSP asking them to do due diligence on these individuals,” he said, adding that he currently found no deficiencies in the agency’s BSP-led clearance and compliance process could accept.

Mr. Bonanrdel calls for “quick light into the darkness”, according to the correspondence.

The company in question operates throughout Canada and offers many services. In Quebec it would have offices in Montreal, Laval and the capital.
