This decision targets almost forty products of different flavors, including Croque Nature cereal, “Quaker Chewy”, “Dipps” and “Yoghurt” soft bars and “Délices Capitaine Crounche” berry flavored bars.
The best before date is between January 11th and July 9th or September 7th, 2024.
Quaker Canada says it made this decision following a recall initiated early Thursday in the United States by the Quaker Oats Company. “This action is being taken in Canada out of an abundance of caution,” the Canadian company said in a statement.
Consumers are asked to check whether they have any of the products affected by the recall and, if necessary, to dispose of them. It is emphasized that the recalled products should not be consumed.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) says food contaminated with salmonella bacteria may not visibly spoil or have a suspicious odor, but it can make you sick.
The bacteria can cause diarrhea, fever and abdominal cramps. Young children, pregnant women, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems are at risk of serious and sometimes fatal infections.
The CFIA says it is currently conducting a food safety investigation that could lead to the recall of other products.
