Public Transportation: Users can pay with their credit card in Toronto

In Toronto, streetcars, buses and subway stations will be equipped with new Presto terminals that accept payments by credit card, debit card and smartphone.

To date, 98% of the trams and 76% of the buses of the Commission de transport (CTT) are equipped with it.

The remaining 5,500 devices are to be installed by the end of March. Subway stations must also have new terminals this year.

Payment without a Presto card will not be offered until mid-2023 Metrolinx in a press release.

The CTT late

Credit card and mobile payments are already available on GO commuter trains in the greater Toronto area.

In Vancouver, users have been able to pay with their credit card since 2018. Chicago has offered this option since 2013.

In Toronto, many users are looking forward to the possibility of soon being able to pay with their credit card.

I often forget to add funds to my Presto cardsays Deja Pochun. It will be less stressful if I can pay with a credit or debit card.
