Public Sector Health Plan: Transitional Update

On July 1, the federal government transferred Sun Life’s Public Service Health Care Plan contract to Canada Life, a change that will affect more than one million federal employees, retirees and their dependents. Since it is the employer who initiated and implemented this change, it is their duty to ensure a smooth transition.

PSAC, which has been made aware of some difficulties enrolling in the new plan, has since learned that Canada Life has hired additional staff in response to the increased call volume. We will continue to urge the government to improve the process.
