Provisional agreement for a future emergency care center in Saskatoon

According to Saskatchewan Secretary of Health Paul Merriman, this initiative aims to provide City of Bridges residents with alternative healthcare choices by relieving pressure on hospitals.

The future facility will provide an alternative for residents who need immediate care and is expected to ease the pressure on hospital emergency roomssaid Paul Merriman in a press release.

This emergency center project is the result of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between Saskatchewan and the Ahtahkakoop Cree First Nation last October.

Saskatoon’s future emergency care center is one of two centers announced as part of the government’s $7.5 billion investment planremembers the press release.

The center is planned to occupy the current location of Pleasant Hill Elementary School in Saskatoon and will operate 24 hours a day.

But the province will ensure that the school is relocated and that the students develop in a good environment.
