Presentation from the Canadian Federation of Independent Business in Pontiac on the employment needs of businesses
On Thursday (October 19), the Pontiac Chamber of Commerce hosted a happy hour at Little Red Wagon Winery in Clarendon with a presentation from the Canadian Federation of Independent Business (CFIB). The presentation addressed issues faced by entrepreneurs, particularly in Outaouais. After the meeting, CFIB policy analyst Benjamin Rousse explained that the organization is conducting a series of surveys among its members to examine trends and challenges by region.
He added that they have conducted studies on interprovincial trade and the impact of the language barrier on businesses. He said half of Ontario businesses surveyed said the language barrier prevented them from doing more business across the border. Only one in five Quebec companies said the same.
The full interview with Benjamin Rousse in French will be available here shortly. You can find the interview in English here.
