Porter opens new Toronto-Victoria route

Porter Airlines today launched new daily flights from Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) to Victoria (YYJ), British Columbia.

The new route will be served by the airline’s new Embraer E195-E2 aircraft. The 132-seat aircraft features a two-by-two configuration, meaning there are no middle seats.

Free and fast Wi-Fi is available on board to allow passengers to enjoy entertainment services on various devices.

A library of films and television series also offers further entertainment options on board.

“Victoria Airport is one of our most popular new markets,” said Kevin Jackson, executive vice president and chief commercial officer of Porter Airlines. We now serve the largest cities in western Canada and Victoria as far east as St. John’s, including many cities in between. As we expand our fleet in 2024, we plan to serve many more destinations across North America.”

According to Porter, the Embraer E195-E2 burns less fuel per seat per flight than any other aircraft in its class, and no other single-aisle aircraft is as “quiet.”

“Sustainability is at the heart of our food offering. We want to reduce and then eliminate all forms of single-use plastic on board by offering biodegradable cups and cutlery as well as ecological packaging,” emphasizes the carrier.
