CALGARY — Suncor Energy says it is making progress this week troubleshooting disruptions resulting from a cyberattack on the oil and gas company.

The Calgary-based company says debit and credit transactions are again open at most of its Petro-Canada service stations.

Due to what Suncor has dubbed a “cybersecurity incident,” many Petro-Canada stores across the country were only able to use cash for several days.

The security breach also affected the company’s Petro Points application, its website and some car washes, which remain unavailable.

Suncor said it will continue to notify customers as more services are restored.

The company declined to provide details about what type of cyberattack it suffered or what other parts of its business might have been affected.
