American Patrick Cantlay gave South Korean Tom Kim victory with a triple bogey on the 18th hole of the Shriners Children’s Open in Las Vegas on Sunday.
The two men were tied before tackling the par 4 of the final pennant. Cantlay thus dealt a card of 69(-2) while Kim played 66(-5).
The 20-year-old won by three goals to claim his second PGA Tour title of his career. He did not commit a bogey during his working week.
Cantlay shares second place with his compatriot Matthew NeSmith.
The best Canadian result in Vegas was Adam Hadwin. However, he had his worst round of the week at 68 (-3). His total score of 267 (-17) allowed him to finish in 10th place with American Maverick McNealy.
Maple Leaf representatives Taylor Pendrith and Adam Svensson hit the ball 69(-2) and 73(+2) times, respectively. In that order, he shares places 44 and 69 with other golfers.
LPGA: a first win for Jodi Ewart Shadoff
Brit Jodi Ewart Shadoff won her first LPGA Tour title by winning the Mediheal Championship in Somis, California.
The winner had her worst performance of the week, a 71 (-1), but her total score of 273 (-15) still allowed her to edge Japan’s Yuka Saso by one shot.
The only Canadian in the weekend rounds, Alena Sharp, finished last among the golfers who played Saturday and Sunday. She hit the ball 76 (+4) times on her last lap.
