Paris-Roubaix Women: Canadian Alison Jackson wins third edition

Canada’s Alison Jackson finished in first place of the women’s Paris-Roubaix peloton despite a tough course.

A course of 145.4 kilometers with 29.9 kilometers of cobblestones awaited the cyclists of this third edition of Paris-Roubaix Women. And it was Canada’s Alison Jackson, 34, who led the race with a time of 3 hours, 42 minutes and 56 seconds.

From Denain, due to the changed overall level, the riders had to face a more complicated route up to the Roubaix velodrome.

Big favorites were expected among them, in particular the Begle Lotte Kopecky (Team SD Worx), who has already won three classics this year (Omloop, Nokere Koerse and the Tour of Flanders) or the Italian Elisa Longo Borghini (Trek-Segafredo), Winner of the Paris-Roubaix Women of 2022.

In the end it was actually Alison Jackson (EF Education-Tibco-SVB) who won the race. She managed to stand out from a group of six runners thanks to a sprint.

The Canadian came out of the morning break and was able to defend himself against the return of the group of favorites, which was delayed by falls.

Alison Jackson is closely followed by Italy’s Katia Ragusa (Liv Racin Teqfind) and Belgium’s Marthe Truyen (Fenix-Deceuninck), who complete the podium.
