Nokia and Eastlink are partnering to modernize Canada’s cellular network with 5G

Nokia And eastlink announced a multi-year strategic partnership to further modernize Eastlink’s cellular network in Canada.

Using Nokia’s comprehensive and energy-efficient AirScale portfolio, including 5G RAN technology, Eastlink will enhance its mobile experience with faster speeds, higher performance and greater network capacity. The partnership includes the expansion of new locations and the modernization of existing locations. The first site using Nokia technology is scheduled to go live in August.

Based on state-of-the-art fiber optic and cellular networks, Eastlink offers residential, commercial and industrial customers various communication services, including high-speed Internet, cellular, television, telephone, data services, security and smart home solutions. Public in seven provinces of Canada and Bermuda.

Since its launch in 2013, Eastlink has invested $500 million to develop its wireless service across Canada, most recently in New Brunswick and soon in the Acadian Peninsula.
