NHL: Only three Atlantic teams in the playoffs?

Looking at the National Hockey League (NHL) rankings, fans and journalists can predict that the Metropolitan Division on the Eastern Conference side will have the upper hand across the Atlantic, making the situation for the Montreal Canadiens Division formations outside , could complicate the top 3.

If the trend continues, only three Atlantic clubs will advance to the 2023 playoffs, and as many expected, the Toronto Maple Leafs and Tampa Bay Lightning are among the section’s dominant rosters with 44 and 41 points, respectively. However, few predicted the stellar performance of the Boston Bruins, who lead the standings by 52 points, seven more than their closest pursuers. Before the start of the regular calendar, many observers saw that they were fighting more for one of the last spots that allowed access to the postseason stage.

However, the other clubs in the division, including the Habs, will have to do a lot to sneak into the playoff portrait. The Buffalo Sabers may have had some interesting moments, but their 34 points don’t allow them to qualify right now. They are fourth in their division and tenth in the East, four points behind the eighth-ranked New York Islanders and ninth-ranked Washington Capitals.

On the Metropolitan side, the surprise performances of the New Jersey Devils threw a spanner in the works. Head coach Lindy Ruff’s team remains in the lead with 44 points, the same number as the Carolina Hurricanes, despite five straight losses. The New York Rangers (41) and the Pittsburgh Penguins (40) are relatively close to first place.

His admirers should keep their fingers crossed for the Canadian (32) to hope for a playoff presence. He’s ranked 13th in the East and just ahead of the Ottawa Senators (31) in second to bottom in the Atlantic.
