No fewer than 22 National Hockey League (NHL) players will use the arbitration board to negotiate a new contract.
On the list of those who will use this service are three impact protection workers. They are Ilya Samsonov, Jeremy Swayman and Filip Gustavsson.
Samsonov had a strong showing with the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2022-33, posting a 27-10-5 record. His clean sheet average was 3.13 and his save percentage was 0.898.
Swayman and Gustavsson each did great service to their team last season. Jeremy Swayman ended the regular season with the Boston Bruins with a 24-6-4 record. Filip Gustavsson gave the Minnesota Wild an excellent performance with a record of 22-9-7.
The fate of Anaheim Ducks forward Troy Terry is in the hands of a judge. In the 2022-23 season, the 25-year-old finished second in the points standings behind Trevor Zegras with the Ducks with 61 points, including 23 goals, in 70 games.
Gabriel Vilardi is involved in the transaction that brought Pierre-Luc Dubois to Los Angeles and will also need this service to negotiate his first contract with the Winnipeg Jets. He set a career-high 41 points, including 23 goals, in 63 games with the California team last year.
Additionally, no color bearer from the Montreal Canadiens will participate in this drill.
Players who wish to request arbitration have until July 6 to do so. If a skater cannot reach an agreement with their team, they must attend a hearing, which will be held July 20 through August 4.
