Nadine Girault’s private funeral will be held on March 4th

(Montreal) The funeral of the late Minister Nadine Girault will be held on Saturday, March 4th.

At the request of the family of Mr.Me Girault, the latter’s funeral will be private. Everything takes place at 2pm at Les Espaces Memoria in Laval.

Members of the public who wish to offer their condolences are asked to do so between 2pm and 9pm the day before the funeral, Friday 3 March. A condolence register will be posted online and available to the general public on the Memoria website.

Remember that M.Me Girault died of lung cancer on February 12 at the age of 63. The illness had forced her to retire from politics for the first time at the Laurentians in 2019, less than a year after her election as Bertrand’s deputy.

Last July, the minister announced that she would not seek a second term for health reasons.

“On February 12, our ex-colleague and friend Nadine Girault died of lung cancer. This news moved the entire National Assembly. Anyone who got to know Nadine knows what an extraordinary woman she was. She was a role model for many women, first in business, then in politics. I would like to express my sincere condolences to her husband Alain, family and loved ones. We will never forget you, Nadine,” Premier François Legault said in a statement.

Diploma in administration and career manager, MMe Girault has worked in finance, notably at Royal Bank, Bank of Montreal and Desjardins. She also served on several boards of directors before making the leap into politics in 2018.

As First Minister for International Relations and Francophonie, after a cabinet reshuffle, she headed the Ministry for Immigration, Franciscanization and Integration from 2020.
