As we reported to you last week, the host Martin Lemay from BPM Sports had been suspended from his duties by his employer for making what he considered unacceptable comments on the station’s airwaves.
So he lost his microphone and his show for a few days.
Late yesterday afternoon, the popular presenter finally found his microphone and returned to moderation Return of the athletes.
He didn’t want to avoid the question from the start and immediately addressed the elephant in the room with a short speech.
Out of respect for what has been done, I think we need to start at the heart of the matter and not pretend it doesn’t exist. I need to talk to you. This will be the last time we talk about this. I’ve always hated excuses with “yes, but”; it gets on my nerves. I’m not going to start today, I’m going to try to teach my children to apologize instead of saying “It’s not my fault, not that I meant it!” I made a mistake and I don’t have to repeat it or tell you what a mistake was made. The next morning I was ready to apologize without holding back or hesitation. You know the rest, I apologized and I apologize again. Contrary to what many people believe, no one has asked me for an apology. When I found out that I had hurt people, I said: “No problem, I’ll write an apology letter.” And who thinks that from now on I won’t say what I think about a game, about a team, about leaders , he should think about it again: there is absolutely nothing that will change. Except that I won’t cross the border again. Now if you agree, it’s time for fun and exercise. Point.
-Martin Lemay
The station’s listeners will therefore be happy to know that Lemay has no intention of changing his style after recent incidents.
Having already made his mea culpa several times in the last few days, he wants to continue to maintain the manner in which he says what he thinks, as he has become accustomed to from his believers in recent years.
