Louis Jean pours out his heart about his departure from TVA Sports

More than a year ago, the departure of Louis Jean by TVA Sports sent shockwaves through Quebec’s sports media.

We recall that he mysteriously disappeared from the radio for three months without giving any sign of life, before returning out of nowhere with a joint official press release with his employer stating that he would officially leave the station at the end of March 2023.

Afterwards, the two ex-journalists, Tom Lapointe And Michel Villeneuve revealed that his departure was directly related to a personal conflict between him and Renaud Lavoie. A real movie scenario.

Hugo Dumas had subsequently added by confirming the chicanery between Louis Jean And Renaud Lavoie.

The conflict, which has nothing to do with work, erupted in the summer of 2021 when the Montreal Canadiens were participating in the Stanley Cup Final in Tampa Bay, Florida. I won’t go into details that concern personal life, but I do know that the dispute was so serious that Renaud Lavoie asked to no longer be physically in the same studio as Louis Jean. Which he was granted.

A year later, the situation calmed down and Louis Jean was recently opened as a guest on the Unrestricted podcast Kevin Raphael.

In a heartfelt discussion, he returned to the events at TVA. Here is an excerpt:

@louisjean.media and his departure from TVA Sports.

This week, sports journalist Louis Jean opens up to us. He talks about his departure from Tva Sports, tells us anecdotes about the job and tells us about his personal journey.

He also talks about his new web project, his vulnerability and several other topics.

When asked what he misses most, he replies that it is being there. The adrenaline of being in the studio and hearing the countdown.

The drive to play live is non-existent. I miss it, that’s for sure.

I also really enjoyed the teamwork (…) the exchange with the guys (…) ultimately it’s about camaraderie.

I miss Bergie, I miss my colleagues, I just miss the fun.

The most extraordinary thing about this job is not so much what is said on the show, but rather what is not said.

I remember the discussions I had with Mario Lemieux, Denis Savard and Raymond Bourque (…) we drink a beer and the guys tell stories that you can’t tell in a podcast, but it’s extraordinary and you tell yourself that’s why I do this job.
