In recent weeks, the Canadian has excluded several players from his latest training camp. But the names that undoubtedly got the most reaction were those of Joshua Roy and Logan Mailloux.
The first was clearly expected to make it to the club and the second had his chances. But circumstances ultimately led the two boys to Laval.
They started the season where they didn’t want to be. But despite it all, the Ontario defenseman gave it his all on the ice with a four-point performance in the first game of the season.

Apparently the aim of sending him to Laval was to give him a lot of playing time that he wasn’t ready for at the helm. But did you know he didn’t play on the first power play at the start of the season?
This morning on BPM Sports, Anthony Marcotte put a word about it in his column in the morning.
And now at today’s Rocket training we noticed that Mailloux had taken his place in the first power play unit. Adam Engstrom, who was in the first wave, went into the second.
Here is the composition of the two waves. Will it still be the same at the end of the week?
Some changes to the power play units @RocketLaval This morning:
PP1: Mailloux, BarrΓ©-Boulet, Gignac, Beck, Roy
PP2: Engstrom, Mesar, Tuch, Davidson, Dauphin

During his column on BPM Sports this morning ahead of Rocket practice, Anthony Marcotte said he was “pleasantly surprised” that Engstrom, who shouldn’t be underestimated this season, had such an opportunity.
I wonder if CH management asked about this last week. And if so, was this done to please Engstrom… or mostly to send a message to Mailloux, who has made it no secret that he wants to start the season in Montreal?
The question arises, but it is clear that there is a certain message in it.
But hey. No matter who decides on the units and no matter the reasons, Mailloux has to play well to have a chance at the top – and hope that the CH needs help.
In outbreak
– Good question.
QUESTION OF THE DAY IN THE MORNING CLUB:
The Canadiens will only play 3 games in the next 9 days. What aspect of the game should Martin St-Louis focus on in his training to improve the team? π΅βͺοΈπ΄#Ask #clubdumatin #NHL #IceHockey #Canadian
