For the second time in as many months, the task force responsible for raising awareness of air pollution in Limoilou, Quebec, will have an additional deadline to submit its final report.
The Task Force on Air Contaminants in Limoilou was originally supposed to submit its recommendations to Environment Minister Benoit Charette by December 1, 2022 at the latest. You have been granted an extension of one and a half months, so they can submit their results by January 16th. On Friday, they were granted a new two-week grace period by the Department of Environment, Combating Climate Change, Wildlife and Parks (MELCCFP).
This is the last allowed delay.
Minister Benoit Charette said on Twitter on Friday.
The Working Group on Atmospheric Pollutants, made up of independent experts, has the mandate to identify the pollutants present in the air of Limoilou District that pose the greatest risks to the environment and human health. It is also tasked with recommending measures to improve air quality in this sector of Lower Quebec.
In particular, the possible effects of port activities, trucking, wood heating and the activities of the waste incineration plant in Québec City had to be examined.
