Léon Chouinard et Fils: the family business passes the torch

“In all these years I have never played golf as my friends know. We only worked. Always work. Then for the last couple of years we’ve been spending, well, winters in Florida, that’s helped us get over it. But all our lives we have worked. explains Gilles Chouinard, former owner of Léon Chouinard et Fils.

The company has grown from two employees in 1977 to 85 employees today. Gilles Chouinard remembers his beginnings.
“The idea came from one of my brothers. We were in construction and then looked for areas that didn’t have a lot of businesses in the area. That’s how we started it in 1977. But this building was built in 1979,” Gilles Chouinard recalls.

The new pensioner is proud of the path he has traveled. And above all the rediscovered family spirit in the company, which ensures continuity.
“We have always viewed our employees as our customers, as our family. That’s why it was easy. Then the new company, we feel like family. We are really respected. They came here to have our technology. A lot of things we do, they don’t do. They will learn from us as we will learn from them. says Gilles Chouinard.

After all these years of hard work, Gilles Chouinard is really looking forward to taking the time he needs to be with his grandchildren.
