Knife attack in Canada: One of the two suspects in the attacks found dead

One of two suspects in Sunday’s attacks in Canada has died and his body was found at one of the sites where the killings took place, police said Monday.

Damien Sanderson’s body wore several “visible injuries“The other suspect, her brother Miles Sanderson, is still at large and may also have been injured,” she added during a news conference.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau lamented earlier in the day that such deadly attacks had “become too common” in the country.

Police have issued an arrest warrant for the two men identified as Damien Sanderson and Miles Sanderson, aged 31 and 30 respectively – police did not say if they were related.

The authorities did not initially publish any information about the victims. But most of them are indigenous. In Canada, the latter represent approximately 5% of the population – 38 million people – and live in communities that are often plagued by unemployment and poverty. According to police, some victims were attacked by the suspects and others were attacked indiscriminately.
