Born in Sainte-Marie-de-Beauce, Jonathan Ferland has long had a passion for ice hockey. After showing a lot of work and perseverance, he had the chance to develop in the team that makes up the youngest dream: the Montreal Canadiens.
” As a young hockey player, you dream of playing for the Canadiens. An often unattainable dream because there are so many imponderables and ice hockey players. I went through the stages bit by bit and when it happened it was a special event ‘ he commented.
Today, while Jonathan Ferland still walks the ice from time to time, he has embraced a new role, that of coaching. Joining the Condors program at Cégep Beauce-Appalaches last July, he benefits from a group with great potential that he enjoys coaching but, above all, accompanies in their formation.
” I do the on-site training with them three times a week. But I am also responsible for the school success and the care of the young people. It’s a great opportunity for me to give back to my region, that’s for sure. I have the opportunity to coach young people from Beauce and the rest of Quebec close to home added the Condors coach.
