Jakub Dobes is now unbeaten in four starts in Laval: Is the CH team taking notes?

While the Montreal Canadiens’ goaltenders have struggled since the start of the season, Jakub Dobes maintained his perfect record in the American Hockey League (AHL) on Wednesday night.

The young Czech goaltender stopped 27 pucks in the Rocket’s 3-2 win over the Utica Comets at Place Bell, remaining undefeated in four AHL starts this season.

Riley Kidney caused a stir for the Rockets with his first goal of the season and Jared Davidson. Kidney’s goal was something miraculous: the young Nova Scotia forward produced a superb individual effort to beat defenseman Nick DeSimone and then goalkeeper Nico Daws.

Florian Xhekaj finished with an empty goal.

Owen Beck also had a strong game and collected two assists.

The Rocket, one of the youngest teams in the AHL, are off to a great start. With their fifth win in a row, Pascal Vincent’s team increases their record to 6-1-0.

She will be back in action next Friday against the Providence Bruins.
