Jacob Fowler, third best goalie prospect in the NHL – Sports Addik

The Canadian can say he has a bright future in net over the next few seasons alongside American goalie Jacob Fowler. Journalist Scott Wheeler of The Athletic has rated the best candidates between the posts among the 32 NHL teams.

The latter placed Fowler third in his ranking, considering that he will probably be the Canadian’s starter in a few years. The other two are Jesper Wallstedt (Minnesota) and Yaroslav Askarov (Nashville), who are at the gates of the NHL in their development.

Fowler, a 19-year-old shooting guard, has at least one more season left for the Boston College Eagles in the NCAA. For that reason, we won’t see him face the Canadian right away, but let’s just say it smells very good for him.

The American had a dream season with a dominant team last season, thanks to a 32-6-1 record, a 2.14 goals per game average and a .926 efficiency rate in 39 games. He lost in the varsity finals this year, but was a major factor throughout the season and in the playoffs.

He also won gold with the United States at the Junior World Championships and won virtually everywhere he went in his young career.

Above all, Fowler has a great attitude and we see that he always wants to win. There is not a single shot that he wants to miss, even in training, like a certain Patrick Roy.

He still has a lot of work to do in the coming months, but he risks becoming the Canadiens’ number one goaltender within two seasons.
